    Today, Saturday, April 8, 2023, the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, attended the celebration held by the Badr Organization on the occasion of the anniversary of its founding.
    In his speech, the President of the Republic congratulated the leaders and bases of the Badr Organization, praising the great sacrifices made by the organization's mujahideen and the martyrs of Iraq for the lofty national goals throughout the years of struggle against the dictatorship.
    In the following is the text of the President of the Republic’s speech: In

    the name of God, the Compassionate,
    the Compassionate. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,
    peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. It
    is a matter of pride to be here, and on such an occasion that we recall with it the anniversary of the founding of the Badr Organization, the organization that contributed, with its jihad and struggle against dictatorship, to Side by side with other national and Islamic factions, in order to achieve freedom, dignity and democracy for our people and our country.
    While we extend our warmest congratulations to the brothers in the Badr Organization, leaders and bases on this occasion, we salute and appreciate the great sacrifices made by the Mujahideen of the Organization and with them the general martyrs of Iraq for the lofty national goals throughout the years of struggle against dictatorship, and we also look with pride at the vital role of the Organization in the process of peaceful political construction. For the state in the aftermath of the defeat of dictatorship and the initiation of building a state of democratic institutions.
    On this occasion, we stress the importance of reform and addressing the defects in the political process through serious work that will help the Iraqis build a real, fully sovereign state whose institutions enjoy strength and the ability to overcome crises, immunize our country from the dangers of terrorism, and search for economic stability for the benefit of our people and our country.
    The important goal is to consolidate security, without which there is no stability or progress.

    Ladies and Gentlemen..
    On this occasion, we stress the importance of enhancing joint action between the main forces of parliament with a solidarity effort that helps shorten the time and endeavors to achieve a number of basic legislations, some of which help in strengthening the national economy, which faces serious challenges in parallel with the climate crisis and the challenges surrounding us that cast a heavy shadow on the responsibilities of the state's work and its obligations.
    Confronting challenges requires that we not be complacent with all that the people expect from their various authorities, and we have nothing but to strengthen joint action and bring our points of view closer to everything that affects the interests of the country and the needs of the people.
    I repeat my congratulations to the brothers in (Badr), wishing them progress and success with the other forces of our people for the good of Iraq and all Iraqis.
