Parliament: Postpone the government's assessment until after the budget is approved

The majority of parliamentarians believe that launching a comprehensive assessment of the government's performance is still early, on the pretext that it has borne the burdens of previous governments, in addition to the fact that the actual work of the ministries has not yet begun due to the delay in approving the budget.
Many deputies agree to "find an excuse" for al-Sudani's delay in some steps of his program, pointing out that some ministries do not keep pace with the level of ambition or are out of service, as some of them put it.
A member of the Parliamentary Strategic Planning Committee, Souad al-Maliki, said that her committee "is on the verge of a real assessment of the government's performance, but the budget law has not yet been approved, and this restricts work."
Al-Maliki added, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that "the committee is awaiting the approval of the budget to start actual work on evaluating the government's performance," noting that this is "with the agreement of the members of the committee in this session, especially with regard to the real implementation of the assessment, after studying and following up the performance of the government." ministries and provinces. She pointed out that "the committee follows up the work of the Federal Service Council and there are many obstacles in the issues of central appointment that are supposed to be limited to it."
Representative Haitham Al-Zarkani said, "The government's performance cannot be reduced to this period, given that there are many delayed actions, decisions and achievements accumulated since 2003 until today, and many legislative crises," noting that "executive performance is somewhat OK, but we need support and evaluation." The deputy stated that "the majority of parliament members believe that there is an entitlement to their provinces and their constituents, and for this the government needs to work on services intensively, and the ministerial change is before the prime minister to choose the most efficient one."
The head of the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee, Majid Shankali, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah" that "the Sudanese works diligently at all levels and has many projects that he wants to work on, but there are accumulations and burdens from previous governments."
