    {Politics: Al Furat News} The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Rashid, stressed today, Monday, the importance of developing Iraqi universities through coordination with their peers in the world.
    A statement by the Office of the President of the Republic, received by {Euphrates News}, stated that "President Rashid received today, at the Baghdad Palace, a delegation of university presidents that included Munir Al-Saadi, President of the University of Baghdad, Ahmed Al-Ghabban, President of the Technological University, Ali Al-Jubouri, President of the Iraqi University, and Thamer Al-Kazemi. President of Al-Karkh University, and Abdul Mohsen Naji, President of the Middle Technical University.
    He added, "The meeting discussed the reality of university education in the country, where the President of the Republic stressed the need to give the scientific aspect and its sobriety a priority to graduate students who possess scientific and academic foundations," pointing out that "Iraqi universities are considered among the oldest universities in the region and have a good reputation and scientific sobriety at the level The world, and brilliant scientific and academic elites working inside and outside the country graduated from it.
    The President of the Republic indicated, according to the statement, that he "will make field visits to Iraqi universities," stressing "the importance of the private sector having a role in absorbing graduate students."
    Rashid pointed out the importance of "developing universities through cooperation and coordination with their peers in the world as well as with international practical and research centers," stressing the need to "improve the reality of private colleges, and pay attention to developing curricula for students, and the need to support the top and distinguished to develop their skills and benefit from their capabilities."
    For their part, the attending university presidents confirmed that their institutions have taken plans to raise the scientific level and increase the number of students on scholarship abroad. They also pointed out the importance of coordination with civil and government companies.
