    Environment Minister Nizar Amidi stressed, on Friday, the importance of activating international support in mitigation and adaptation programs and projects to meet the challenges of climate change.

Nizar Amidi, participated in the high-level dialogue session hosted by the World Bank in Washington, D. From Jordan, Morocco and Egypt, and the session was entitled Accelerating Climate-Smart Development, during which the conditions of these countries and the challenges they face and possible areas of cooperation with the World Bank were reviewed.

    She added that the minister "presented within this context the programs of the Iraqi government and the serious steps it has taken to confront the repercussions of climate change, which is threatening the whole world, not just Iraq, and giving this file great importance in the government program, stressing at the same time the importance of activating international support in mitigation programs and projects."
