    Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Environment announced Iraq's agreement with the World Bank to support environmental projects in sectoral ministries.
    The Ministry of Environment said in a statement, "The Minister of Environment, Nizar Amidi, held a meeting with the World Bank team and the director of the World Bank's office in Iraq, headed by Richard Abu Al-Nur, in Washington," noting that "it was agreed to support environmental projects in the sectoral ministries."
    Amidi stressed the priority of supporting environmental projects, especially in the solid waste treatment sector, modern agriculture and energy sustainability, stressing the need to actually advance renewable energies projects and focus on issues of water security, food security and societal security.
    He pointed out, "The issue of water security and rational water management is one of the most important priorities of the Iraqi government, especially with the continuation of water policies in Iraq," explaining that "Iraq needs the support of the World Bank at the current stage, especially with regard to issues of combating poverty, achieving social justice, and supporting youth and women." and civil society organisations.
    For his part, Abu al-Nour welcomed "working with the Iraqi government, which is striving to achieve environmental reforms in the face of the effects of climate change," calling for "transforming the programs and projects presented in the World Bank report into projects that serve the environmental sector, especially with regard to waste recycling, the water sector, and agriculture." Sustainable energy and green investment ways.

    Earth News/ Environment Minister Nizar Amidi stressed, yesterday, Thursday, the priority of supporting environmental projects, especially in the solid waste treatment sector, modern agriculture and energy sustainability.
