Peasant associations in Karbala demand the Ministry of Agriculture to form a committee to compensate farmers for the wheat fields that were damaged by the rains
The head of the local union in Karbala, Mr. Jawad Kazem Noman Al-Kuraiti, said: Thousands of agricultural dunums have been damaged as a result of the falling rains and thunderstorms throughout the agricultural areas of the governorate during the past two days, which requires action by the central and local governments and the Ministry of agriculture in order to send experts urgently and immediately to estimate the quantities and record the damaged fields.
Al-Kuraiti added that we demanded the Ministry of Agriculture to form a committee in coordination with the local government and agricultural associations in Karbala to compensate farmers for wheat fields that were completely damaged during the rains, especially in the areas of Ain al-Tamr district , until the situation reached the fall of some pivot sprinklers and their out of service.
He explained that these crops are strategic and a great economic wealth that cannot be neglected, in addition to being a source of income for hundreds of farmers working in this vital sector. To receive[/rtl]
