Moanis told Al-Furat News that: "There is insistence from most political blocs to pass the budget law, especially since the country has been without a budget for three years, and the financial management law and the emergency food support law continue to work."
He added, "The political blocs are aware that it is late, so there is a need to approve and implement the budget in order for it to see the light in a way that achieves projects, in addition to completing the confirmation of employees contracting with the state to permanent staffing."
"More than 400,000 contracts have been transferred to permanent owners, and they are awaiting approval of the budget," Moanis continued.
And Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, confirmed that all efforts are focused on approving the public financial budget law, shortly after Eid Al-Fitr.
Abdullah said, We decided to conduct the second reading before Eid Al-Fitr, and it was agreed that the second reading of the bill will take place today, and today's session will continue, and even if we do not finish reading and listening to the report of the Finance Committee until the time of Suhoor, we will continue reading tomorrow.
And the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, announced yesterday, Saturday, that the Presidency of the House of Representatives had received the report of the Parliamentary Finance Committee related to the draft general budget law, adding that “we will proceed to the second reading of the law in the Sunday session.”
On the fifth of this month, the House of Representatives conducted its first reading of the Iraqi budget bill for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
