Independent MP Haider Al-Salami criticized, on Saturday, the performance of the Parliament Presidency, indicating that the Presidency did not deal with the opposition at the ambitious level.
Al-Salami said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency that "the parliamentary presidency did not deal with the opposition at an ambitious level within the parliament, especially in the voting session on the election law."
Adding that "the role of the parliament presidency towards the opposition forces does not rise to the level of the desired aspirations," pointing out that "the fifth parliamentary session witnessed, for the first time, the existence of a parliamentary opposition."
He pointed out that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives is supposed to deal wisely with the independents and the emerging forces in ensuring the rights of the opposition guaranteed by the constitution," adding that the opposition forces are working on the existence of a legal framework for the opposition in Parliament.
The independent MP, Amer Abdul-Jabbar, had confirmed in a previous interview with Al-Maalouma Agency that there is a clear marginalization of the emerging forces and independents within the House of Representatives, and therefore we have begun to attract some representatives from within the State Administration Coalition.
