Shafaq News/ The "Taqdam" parliamentary bloc, led by the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the general amnesty law will soon be enacted in parliament and before the state's general budget law is enacted.

The representative of the bloc, Nihal Al-Shammari, told Shafaq News agency, "There is great progress in the negotiations to legislate the general amnesty law, and there is a real intention to legislate this law by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' Al-Sudani," noting that "negotiations are continuing and continuing to resolve this law." promptly and submit it to Parliament for a vote.
Al-Shammari stated, "We believe that the general amnesty law will be enacted before the budget law is enacted, and the vote on the general amnesty will be by the House of Representatives in the middle of next month (May)," stressing that "this law will only target innocent people and will not include terrorists, corrupt and merchants." drugs.”
The general amnesty law is one of the most prominent demands of the Sunni blocs that stipulated its approval during the negotiations to form the state administration, which included the Shiite coordination framework and the Kurdish and Sunni blocs, which resulted in the formation of the new government headed by Muhammad Shia al-Sudani.
The government program, according to deputies from the Sunni component, includes the issuance of a general amnesty law, security checks in their governorates, and the abolition or suspension of bodies that were a source of concern and crisis for them.
Despite the passage of about six months since the government's life, the general amnesty is still a matter of debate between the Sunni and Shiite blocs, and no agreement has been reached on the groups covered by it yet.
