Independent MP Kazem Al-Touki confirmed that the budget did not face any obstacles delaying its approval in the House of Representatives, pointing out that the Finance Committee continues its work on proposals and some paragraphs before proceeding with voting on the budget.
Al-Touki said in a press interview seen by “Takadum” that “the budget, after the first reading and discussion took place, notes were raised regarding some of its paragraphs from all members of the House of Representatives, as they were recorded with the Parliamentary Finance Committee in order to take them into consideration and study what can be included in them.”
He added, "The budget has not been obstructed, and no problems have arisen regarding it between the political parties, but there is a delay that has occurred after discussion and presentation of proposals, and this delay is due to the Eid holiday, as it will be decided by the Parliamentary Finance Committee in the coming days."
And he indicated that “the Parliamentary Finance Committee has important points that it is working to resolve, including those related to approving a budget for three years and finding a solution to change oil prices during the next three years, as well as the financial deficit in the budget, as work is underway to reduce it.”
