    The Ministry of Environment agreed with the World Bank team to support the Iraqi government in projects to treat polluted sites, solid waste treatment techniques, modern agriculture, energy sustainability and green investment ways.
    The Minister of Environment, Eng. Nizar Amidi, during his meeting with the delegation of the World Bank team headed by Richard Abu Al-Nour, Director of the World Bank office in Iraq, and technical advisors for the environment and climate, Dalia Lutfi and Ahmed Ali, at the ministry's headquarters, stressed the priority of supporting environmental projects, indicating Iraq's need for the support of the World Bank at the current stage. Especially to reduce the effects of climate change and its repercussions on the country.
    Amidi explained that during the meeting, environmental projects and programs that were implemented in all governorates were discussed, including the treatment of a number of polluted sites in 7 Iraqi governorates after their evaluation. 
     Pointing out that the government has put environmental projects and remedies such as desertification, agriculture, renewable energies, rational water management and associated gas investment at the forefront of its programs because it is one of the important treatments in improving the environmental reality and facing the negative effects of climate change, stressing that doubling bridges of cooperation with international organizations in addition to the involvement of the private sector and public 
     institutions For the purpose of implementing projects and programs that contribute to mitigating these effects.

     For their part, representatives of the World Bank delegation expressed their willingness to support and finance environmental and awareness projects and activities that contribute to mitigation and adaptation to meet environmental challenges and problems of climate change and to transform programs and projects presented in the World Bank report into projects that serve the environmental sector in Iraq.
