    Today, Sunday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee, chaired by the head of the committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, and in the presence of its members, discussed with the Minister of Interior Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari and the accompanying delegation the budget of the ministry and reviewed the operational and investment details related to employee compensation and service and commodity requirements.
    During the meeting, Al-Atwani stressed, in a statement to the Parliamentary Media Department, "the need to enable the ministry to perform its security responsibilities, and to ensure the financial allocations that the ministry needs."
    He referred to "comparing the chapters of the budget for the year 2023 with previous years," stressing that "the committee is serious about supporting the ministry in everything that would achieve security and stability, as well as enhance revenues for the state treasury."
    In turn, the Minister of Interior reviewed the Ministry's work and its role in achieving stability, in addition to the Ministry's needs to carry out its duties and assume responsibility," pointing to "the importance of transferring the security file from a military administration to a security administration, within the Ministry's plan to take over the security file in cities and keep the army out, with the need to Financial allocations to fortify international borders.
    The statement pointed out that "the requirements of civil defense and energy police have been clarified, as well as the modernization of the security communications system, the criminal evidence system, and drug control, to include adequate financial allocations in the budget. to five years.”
    The Finance Committee discussed the issue of the 29,000 employees whose contracts had been terminated, the allocation of the necessary funds to return them to the Ministry’s formations, and the file of the examiners to ensure the financial allocations for them, in addition to finding appropriate solutions for the sons of the Awakening and adapting their conditions by dividing them into three categories to benefit from their services and refer to retirement due to age. And referral due to illness, while the transfer of military personnel from certificate holders to civilian personnel, and the calculation of academic certificates, were discussed.
    The interventions of the deputies also included the issue of establishing police stations, establishing investigative units, the electronic passport, establishing a fund for the Ministry of the Interior and activating fees for service (collection), in addition to the amounts allocated to the ministry within the Emergency Support for Food Security and Development Law and their places of disbursement, based on the Financial Management Law.
    The Minister of Interior stated that there are projects within the investment budget that need financial allocations to enhance performance, such as the communications system project and the unified national card, pointing to the issue of selling distinguished numbers in order to enhance revenues, in addition to the car tinting project in exchange for sums of money, while the Minister of Interior stated that revenues are expected to increase.     The budget of the Ministry of the Interior amounted to nearly 13 trillion, of which the current budget constitutes (94%), while the current budget amounted to (6%) of the total financial allocations for the ministry.
