The Parliamentary Transportation and Communications Committee announced, on Tuesday, its intention to offer a reduction in the prices of internet bills and phone card prices during its hosting of the Minister of Communications and the Communications and Media Commission, noting that reducing the tax requires the inclusion of a paragraph in the budget.
The head of the committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, said in a press statement that "her committee intends, during the upcoming sessions, to host the Minister of Communications and the head of the Communications and Media Authority to discuss reducing Internet prices as well as phone cards."
She added, "Reducing sales tax on recharge cards requires placing a paragraph in the 2023 budget," and indicated that "the Communications Committee receives many complaints about the lack of real commitment to reducing card prices by company owners," and she continued, "Her committee is making efforts to improve
services Mobile phone companies and work to reduce taxes imposed on citizens.
