Economic expert Manar Al-Obaidi highlighted a paragraph within the Salaries Law No. 22 of 2008 that allows the government to adjust salaries in light of economic inflation.
Al-Obeidi wrote on his Facebook page, "Iraq does not need to amend the salary scale. Paragraph Two of Article Three of the Salary Law No. 22 of 2008 allows the government to adjust salaries in light of economic inflation."
He added, "According to the data of the Ministry of Planning, inflation rates have increased since 2012 by more than 30%, and therefore there is no need to go to parliament to amend the salary scale, but the decision can be taken by the government based on Law 22 of 2008." Ended 29/N33
