{Economic: Al Furat News} A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mueen Al-Kazemi, revealed that the committee will present, tomorrow, Wednesday, a report to the House of Representatives and the State Administration Coalition on the financial budget.
Al-Kazemi said in a press statement: “Today, he put the final research on the budget to come up with a summary of the Finance Committee’s observations on the 2023 budget, which amounted to 198 trillion and 500 billion dinars, and to reduce the deficit of 64 trillion, and how to increase governorate allocations and the mechanism for distributing petrodollars to the oil and gas-producing governorates and half of the poorest governorates.” And support the provinces affected by terrorism.
He added, "Tomorrow, the final summary of these reviews will be submitted to the House of Representatives and the state administration coalition, preparing the final draft of the budget next week and presenting it to the House of Representatives to vote on this draft. Through voting, we will come out with the final approval of the budget and it will be implemented."
Al-Kazemi pointed out, "We spoke with Finance Minister Taif Sami about the instructions for implementing the budget to prevent any delay and obstruction of the government program."
He pointed to "adding 800,000 job grades, so that the number of Iraq's employees is 4 million and 100,000 employees, and they need 60 trillion dinars annually," stressing that "salaries are guaranteed for the end of the year, and the government must prepare for 2024."
He noted, "It is possible to reduce the expenditures of some chapters of the ministries, which were increased from the 2021 budget, so that it is a realistic budget that does not burden the government," noting that "internal borrowing is 70 trillion dinars from the previous period until now, and external borrowing is less than this number."
A member of Parliamentary Finance predicted "reducing budget expenditures from 198 trillion dinars to 189 trillion, while seeking to reduce the deficit from 64 trillion to 44 trillion and urging the government to develop non-oil revenues."
