    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The Yazidi deputy for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Vian Dakhil, accused the Minister of Migration and Displacement, Evan Faiq Jabro, of "extorting" the displaced to return to their areas in exchange for their inclusion in social welfare salaries.
Dakhil said in a letter to Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, a copy of which (Baghdad Today) received: “After the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in the Iraqi federal government – thankfully – completed all the requirements for disbursing the monthly financial grant within the salaries of social protection for thousands of displaced Iraqis living in displacement camps. We were surprised by a very strange decision by the Minister of Immigration and the Displaced to stop completing the research procedures and not to include them in the payment of those salaries, which represent a natural right for the displaced, like the rest of the social strata in Iraq.
She added, "The minister requires the return of the displaced to their areas in return for promoting their social protection salary transactions," according to Dakhil.
And she indicated, "We are certainly with the return of all the displaced to their areas, reinforced and honored, but we are not with their return to live in the open again."
Dakhil described this measure as "arbitrary and far removed from human values, and it represents cheap and unacceptable blackmail. Its aim is to achieve false success at the expense of the livelihood of thousands of displaced people who cannot return to their areas, most of which lack the simple requirements of life, such as security, services, job opportunities, and others."
She accused "the Minister of Immigration of persisting in her methods of putting pressure on the displaced by refusing to deliver the monthly foodstuffs allocated to them, in order to return the displaced to their areas where they may face real dangers to their lives and the lives of their families."
And she called on "the Prime Minister to find out the real reasons for these unfair decisions against the displaced," asking him to "take immediate measures to stop this arbitrary decision and to ensure the disbursement of the monthly financial grant to all the displaced who deserve it, including those who cannot return to their areas, because it is unacceptable that the Exploiting and threatening the displaced in order to achieve political or media goals.
He stressed, "We must all work, with haste, to provide the necessary support and assistance to all the displaced so that they can rebuild their lives and their future in a decent and sustainable manner."
