    Baghdad Today - Translator
Reuters International News Agency, through a report published on Tuesday, revealed the details of what it said was "an unprecedented reconstruction campaign led by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani in the capital, Baghdad, in particular, and Iraq in general," stressing that the general view of Iraq now has become "optimistic."
And the agency stated, according to what was translated (Baghdad Today), that the capital areas, which were suffering until recently from a "great shortage of services," are today under a major reconstruction campaign led by the Sudanese government, citing an example of Sadr City, which it said is among the most neglected cities in the country. Iraq, indicating that it is now "under major development in terms of services, as the city's residents now have access to fresh water and paved roads, in addition to unprecedented services."
The campaign led by Al-Sudani, the agency said, has become focused on "providing services quickly and urgently so that citizens can feel its effects in an immediate way, the most important of which is building roads, bridges, paving pedestrian paths, removing checkpoints and combating traffic congestion in the capital, in addition to removing the rubble of destroyed buildings." during the previous eras and rebuild it again.”
The accelerated reconstruction led by Al-Sudani, according to the agency, also had an impact on the energy sector, as the agency confirmed that the supply of electric power in Iraq "improved significantly" during the period of Al-Sudani's assumption of responsibility for managing the state, indicating that the Iraqis were accustomed to power outages in the month of May, with high Daily consumption due to the heat of the air, which did not happen this time.
The interviews conducted by the agency with Iraqi citizens showed "cautious optimism" about the current reconstruction campaign, stressing that the Iraqis have become "concerned" that the political differences that are still "continuing behind the scenes" will disrupt the current reconstruction process led by the Sudanese government, as it put it. .
As for the factors that helped push towards the current reconstruction process, the researcher at the American Century Foundation Institute, Sajjad Jiyad, confirmed in an interview with the agency that the large revenues from the rise in oil prices during the last period, in addition to "the Sudanese desire to avoid more popular protests prompted him to focus On the points whose impact the Iraqis feel now, instead of measures that may be beneficial to them after ten years."
"Al-Sudani wants to be seen by the Iraqis as a man who can carry out what he promises," he said, noting that Al-Sudani is trying to rely on popular support instead of favoring political parties to run his government's affairs.
The agency also indicated that the general view from outside and inside Iraq has become "optimistic" in view of what is currently being accomplished in terms of reconstruction operations in an accelerated manner, stressing that the reconstruction of the sides of the Tigris River, which appears for the first time "a picture different from the usual in Iraq" is prompted by international desire. To participate in the reconstruction campaign, referring to Anna Hidalgo's visit to the French capital Paris and her offer to help in the reconstruction of Baghdad as one of the direct results of the Sudanese government's seriousness in implementing the current reconstruction campaign.
The agency said that "new and exciting" in Baghdad has become the dominant mode of expression for restoring life to the city, which has suffered from continuous years of wars and destruction, explaining, "According to the interview conducted with the Paris governorate and the governor of the capital, Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kazem, the current campaign is part of the funds Approximately 400 million dollars have been allocated for the capital, which will be launched soon and will lead to a reconstruction campaign, the largest of its kind in Iraq," as he put it.
Cooperation with the French side within the "Friendship Pact" signed last week with Hidalgo also includes "management of water projects and facing challenges that prevent the provision of basic services to the population," according to her statement to Reuters, stressing Paris's commitment to helping Baghdad to "return again."
The agency confirmed that "Baghdad's return" to the world once again also includes a cultural campaign that witnessed the return of many refugees outside Iraq, including artists and intellectuals, to the city, through the cultural initiatives that the Al-Kazemi government embraces and supports inside the capital.
The optimism that the agency described as “cautious” is now prompting the Sudanese government to focus on providing services to the public and improving living conditions in general, especially in the capital, Baghdad, stressing that the political differences that “heat up internally” will negatively affect Al-Sudani’s efforts in his reconstruction campaign in the event that it floats back to The surface of the political process, according to its description.
