The semi-official Al-Sabah newspaper, affiliated with the Iraqi Media Network, said that the Council of Ministers decided, in its session held yesterday, Tuesday, headed by Council Speaker Muhammad Shia' al-Sudanese, to transfer the ownership of the land numbered (1M 11 Telul al-Nass) from the Ministry of Finance to the Baghdad Municipality, as well as transferring the ownership of a plot of land. The land numbered (72/2 m 11 Talul al-Nass) from the Ashur General Company / Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works to the Municipality of Baghdad, as a continuation of the procedures for initiating the implementation of the new Sadr city..
The newspaper quoted a statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office as saying that Al-Sudani reviewed, at the outset of the session, Iraq's participation in the work of the 32nd Arab Summit, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the Iraqi delegation's Emphasis on the importance of advancing joint Arab action, integration and economic partnership between the two countries. Brotherly and friendly countries in the region, and aspects of cooperation support stability and development steps for the benefit of all the peoples of the region.
The newspaper added that the council decided to completely ban the import of motorcycles (ticking and speeding), when safety and security conditions and standard specifications are not met, and to ban the import of small bikes whose engine size is less than (40) cc completely, and to stop the import of motorcycles in all their forms, which the size of its engine shall be (40) cc or more, starting from July 1, 2023, and stopping the granting of any licenses to establish a production line for motorcycles Inside Iraq, whether from the public, private or mixed sectors, and reviewing the licenses currently granted in accordance with the provisions of the law, indicating that a period has been determined (3) months to register the aforementioned bicycles and install registration plates on them .
The newspaper indicated that the Council approved banning the movement of bicycles (tukkuk, scooters, and small bicycles) on highways and public roads, stipulating that they be allowed to move after they are duly registered in: (agricultural areas, closed tourist areas, alleys , narrow and secondary roads, and residential areas).
On another topic, Al-Zaman newspaper / Iraq edition / said that the members of the Parliamentary Finance Committee voted on a proposal to fair the daily procedure and confirm the contract owners, by obliging the government to a paragraph in the current year's budget.
The newspaper added that it had seen the proposal circulated on social media, in which it stated that (the Minister of Finance should create the necessary grades to confirm all contracts with whom they were contracted and employed in state departments before and after the second of October 2019, add the necessary allocations for them, and confirm the daily procedures, contracts, lecturers and administrators for those who have administrative and direct orders in their places of work in the directorates of education, who have been contracted for two years or more).
