    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein announced today, Thursday, that the Baghdad Conference, in its third edition, will focus on the economic relations of Iraq's neighboring countries.
    A statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein received a phone call from French Foreign Minister Catherine Cologne, and the two sides discussed improving bilateral relations in various fields, and ways to enhance consultation and coordination between Baghdad and Paris." ".
    He continued, "The two ministers discussed the strategic partnership agreement that was signed during the Prime Minister's visit to Paris, and ways to start implementing it. They also discussed developments in the regional situation and easing tensions between the countries of the region."
    The statement added, "The two sides discussed the results of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani's visit to Paris on 1/26/2023, and the initial steps for preparations for the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its third edition."
    Hussein confirmed that "the next Baghdad conference will focus on the economic relations of Iraq's neighboring countries and how to transform economic integration into integration in this field."
    For her part, French Foreign Minister Catherine Cologne praised "the development of bilateral relations between the two countries," appreciating "the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in removing some obstacles to the agreement between Total and the Iraqi government."
    And she expressed her happiness with "this agreement, which leads to the strengthening of Iraqi-French relations, in addition to the work of the aforementioned company, especially in the field of associated gas, which will lead to an increase in Iraqi revenues, but it will also reduce the impact of environmental risks due to gas flaring."
