    The Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee attributed the reasons for stopping the Ceyhan oil pipeline with Turkey to the pipeline being completely damaged as a result of the earthquakes that hit Turkey last March.
    Committee member Kazem Al-Tooki said, in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, that “Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani, while hosting him in the committee, talked about the reasons for stopping the Turkish Ceyhan pipeline, which is due to its passage in the areas that witnessed the occurrence of earthquakes recently, which made It damaged it and stopped it completely."
    Al-Touki believed that "Turkey used the earthquakes as a pretext because of the amounts imposed by the International Chamber of Commerce arbitration decisions, which are estimated at $1.5 billion, after violating the oil pipeline crossing agreement that was signed in 1973, and allowing it to export crude oil from the Kurdistan Regional Government without The approval of the federal government," noting that "the Ministry of Oil is waiting for a delegation from its Turkish counterpart to visit Iraq."
    The Ministry of Oil had informed Turkey of the resumption of oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, starting from May 13, after it was stopped last March, due to a decision by an international arbitration court that ruled in favor of Iraq against Turkey, regarding crude oil exports from the Kurdistan region.
