The head of the Parliamentary National Producer Bloc, Ibtisam Al-Hilali, called on the Presidency of the House of Representatives to hold a session to approve the budget law next week, before the end of the current legislative term.
Al-Hilali said in a press statement, received by Earth News, that "the State Administration Coalition held a meeting to discuss the general budget law," noting that "the results of the meeting were positive and will contribute to approving the budget law before the end of the current legislative term."
She added, "The first legislative term of the House of Representatives will end at the end of next week, and the Presidency of the House of Representatives must set a date for approving the budget law on Saturday or Monday of next week."
Al-Hilali said, “Many segments of Iraqi society, especially employees and those who have been newly appointed, are eagerly waiting for the budget to be approved, and in the event that it is not approved next week, the parliament presidency must extend the legislative term for another month until the budget law is approved.”
