{Politics: Al-Furat News} Independent Representative Hatif Al-Saadi confirmed today, Saturday, the Kurds' rejection of any amendments to the Kurdistan Region's budget.
The useful summary.. On important news, you can find it on Al-Furat News channel on Telegram.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Al-Saadi told Al-Furat News: "So far, no date has been set for approving the budget law, and we are waiting for a political agreement with the Kurds for the purpose of approving it."
Al-Saadi explained, "The Kurds insist on passing the political agreement signed between them and the government, and they did not accept any amendments or transfers of their share in the budget, in contrast to the demands of members of the Finance Committee to amend the region's share."
For his part, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad Al-Saihoud, suggested that the budget law be presented to a vote this week.
Chihoud said {for Euphrates News} that: "So far, we have not been informed of the date for approving the budget; but it will most likely be presented to a vote this week."
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives failed last Saturday to hold a session to vote on the budget law with the continuation of the dispute with the Kurdistan region, which objected to the amendments to Articles 13 and 14 of the region.
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, said via {Euphrates News} that the dispute with the Kurdistan region is the main reason for the delay in presenting the budget law to Parliament for the purpose of voting.
He pointed to the government's desire to reduce the transfers, while the Finance Committee insists on the transfers. Therefore, there is a disagreement between the government and the Finance Committee, but it is not a major disagreement.
