    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The former Deputy Prime Minister, Bahaa Al-Araji, said today, Tuesday, that the deficit in the financial budget is an excuse that some seek to disturb the trivialities between the center and the Kurdistan region.
Al-Araji said in a televised statement that I followed (Baghdad Today): "There is determination and will, especially from the leaders in the framework, to approve the budget despite the existence of differences," noting that "the delay was not in order to amend some of its paragraphs, but in order to put pressure on the prime minister to put restrictions in his work." This is because of its acceptability in the Iraqi street, as this angers some parties.”
He added, "The budget deficit is an argument, and materials have been added that reinforce the deficit, because some seek to disturb the understandings between the center and the region," noting that "the region's demands were not accepted by some blocs."
Al-Araji added, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani sent messages not to disrupt the interests of the people," stressing, "We bet on the patriotism of Massoud Barzani through their participation in voting, and there are parties outside the framework seeking to restrict al-Sudani's work."
It is noteworthy that the Kurdistan Regional Government has recently objected to the amendments made to the paragraphs related to the region in the financial budget that the House of Representatives seeks to approve, describing it as a violation of the laws, the constitution and the agreements concluded between Erbil and Baghdad.
The Iraqi parliament had set next Thursday as the date for voting on the tripartite budget project.
The session’s agenda included, according to the media department of the parliament, “voting on the draft federal budget law for the years (2023, 2024, 2025).
On the 13th of last March, the Council of Ministers approved the largest financial budget in the history of the country, which exceeded 197 trillion and 828 billion Iraqi dinars (about 152.2 billion dollars), with a total deficit of 63 trillion Iraqi dinars, taking advantage of the rise in global oil prices, which It constitutes more than 95% of the country's financial revenues, amid objections from financial and legal experts regarding the budget items, but it has not yet been approved due to disagreements.
