    The Council of Ministers issued a number of new decisions today, Tuesday.
    Today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, chaired the twenty-third regular session of the Council of Ministers, in which they discussed the general conditions of the country.
    The session dealt with the most important files related to vital issues in the economic, service and other aspects, in addition to deliberating the files on the agenda and taking the necessary decisions in their regard.
    And in support of the Iraqi sports fans, and the football tournaments that are of special interest to the public, the Prime Minister directed the free broadcast of all matches of the West Asian Championship under the age of 23, which Iraq will host during the month of June.
    With regard to the rights of the various components and spectrums, the Prime Minister directed the Federal Service Council to speed up the procedures related to the implementation of a previous decision of the Council of Ministers in which it obligated all ministries, and entities not associated with a ministry, to replace job grades for the movement of owners from the Iraqi spectrum of different minorities, with replacements. From the children of the same component.
    With the aim of speeding up the rehabilitation of the Baghdad-Jurf Al-Nasr-Karbala road (the alternative road), before the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the Council of Ministers approved the following:
    1- The Ministry of Planning included the rehabilitation project for the first part (the road section within the borders of Karbala Governorate with a length of 13.5 km, and the construction of an iron bridge in place of the destroyed Fadhiliyah Bridge, within the plan of the Department of Roads and Bridges), as a component within the Roads and Bridges Maintenance section, tab 65/12/ 1.
    2- The Ministry of Planning included the construction project for the second part of the road section within the borders of Karbala Governorate, with a length of 9 km, within the Karbala Governorate plan.
    3- Approval of authorizing the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Works and Public Municipalities, the authority to assign one of the Ministry's companies to implement the project, as an exception to the instructions for implementing government contracts.
    With the aim of implementing Resolution 215 of 2009, which is related to vehicle import controls, the Council of Ministers directed the formation of a committee from the General Traffic Department, customs and their counterparts in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, for the purpose of preparing a draft resolution agreed on its controls and instructions in the center and the region to ensure implementation.
    Likewise, the Council of Ministers approved the recommendation of the Ministerial Council for Energy (23035i) for the year 2023 regarding the use of gas as fuel for transport vehicles, which stipulates that the Ministry of Finance will provide financial support by disbursing annual support amounts provided by the General Company for Gas Mobilization and Services according to the estimated production ceiling. In the amount of five billion two hundred and fifty million dinars, annually for the difference in the purchase price from the sale price of the system only, to ensure the continuation of the aforementioned company’s work and not affect its other activities, after the approval of the Federal General Budget Law for the year 2023.
    In confirmation of the government's approach to relying on alternative energy, the Cabinet approved a draft law regulating renewable energy, which was audited by the State Shura Council, and referred to the House of Representatives, based on the provisions of the constitution, taking into account the notes of the legal department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
    The Cabinet also approved a set of recommendations, including the following: 
    - Approval of the recommendation of the Ministerial Council of Economy on confirming the implementation of Cabinet Resolution (427 of 2012), regarding securing the necessary funds and transferring rent allowances to Iraqi schools in (Moscow, Bucharest, Sofia, New Delhi).
    Approval of the recommendations of the Supreme National Committee for Regulating Human Organ Transplantation in the Ministry of Health on the proposal of the First Amendment Law for the Law on Transplantation of Human Organs and Prevention of Trafficking In Them, No. 11 of 2016, and sending them to the House of Representatives, taking into account the opinion of the Legal Department in the General Secretariat. to the cabinet.
    The Cabinet approved the recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the opening of a general consulate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the holy city of Najaf, and the reopening of a general consulate of the Republic of Iraq in the Pakistani city of Karachi, based on Foreign Service Law No. 45 of 2008 and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1963. .
    On the occasion of World Environment Day, corresponding to June 5, 2023, and in confirmation of the government's escalating approach to increasing the momentum of environmental and climate action, as an important priority in the government program, the Ministry of Environment launched a strategy to reduce environmental pollution, which included immediate and future actions and projects that can be implemented and achieve the strategic goals of quality protection. Air, water and soil, control of chemical, radioactive and biological pollution, optimal management of waste, turning to renewable energy and reducing control of emissions from the energy and industry sectors, in addition to strengthening the institutional, legal and regulatory framework and adopting a participatory approach in implementation, including the private sector and civil society organizations, and all Efforts to reduce environmental pollution.
