The Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi, confirmed that the financial allocations necessary to return the salary savings of the employees of the Kurdistan region are estimated at one trillion and 200 billion dinars annually, stressing that it is the responsibility of the federal government to provide these allocations.
Al-Dulaimi said in statements followed by "Baghdad Today", that "after the end of the budget law, parliament will enter the legislative term recess, which takes a month, and then it will start its work," noting that "we have very important laws awaiting their enactment, including the legislation of the oil and gas law and the Federal Court." .
With regard to paragraph 8 of Article 14 of the Budget Law, she explained: "This text was added among the proposals of some members of the Finance Committee before the draft law reached Parliament, where 15 articles were added, including some incapacitating articles that have great prejudice to the region."
She pointed out that "the proposal added by the Patriotic Union stipulated the deduction of Sulaymaniyah from the region, and this contradicts the constitutional principles, customs, laws, and the nature of the federal region of the Kurdistan Region, and the sacrifices it made to reach the level it has reached now."
And she stated that "the fragmentation of the entity of the Kurdistan region, harming it and diminishing its powers is not accepted by any honest person, and we do not know how the brothers in the Patriotic Union went towards presenting this offensive and disastrous proposal to the people of Kurdistan."
