The Ministry of the Interior has made it clear that the step taken by the courts to expel any police officer found guilty of the crime of bribery is usually a step towards curbing corruption.

The Ministry’s spokesman, Khaled Al-Muhanna, said in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by “The Insider”, that “the efforts of the Ministry of Interior aim to improve the level of performance in terms of security and in terms of services, and that the basic principle is job rotation in accordance with the conditions and standards of integrity, efficiency and sincerity, and so on for departments to implement Work and draw strategy and business requirements.

He said, "It is necessary for the ministry to have a word regarding people who are proven to have procedures that are not commensurate with the new situation represented in combating corruption, and leaving the behaviors that occur from time to time. Therefore, there was a recommendation to the Internal Security Forces courts that the expulsion penalty in which the officer or officer is convicted should be directed." The affiliate who is proven to have committed bribery.” He added, “Standing with such severity and rigor in the face of corruption is an important and serious matter, especially since we are witnessing in our country a large spread of corruption manifestations.”

For his part, the legal expert, Mortada Al-Issawi, explained that "the perpetrator of the crime of bribery, whether from the Ministry of Interior or from others, in all areas of public office is punished by dismissal, not expulsion."

He added that "dismissal means job execution, that is, he is removed from the job and is not allowed to be appointed again, given that bribery is one of the crimes against honor."
