Yesterday, Sunday, the Governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, announced the commencement of the work of covering the main streets in the province, while referring to the plans for housing projects. Khoshnaw said in a press conference held yesterday, followed by (Al-Mada), “The process of covering the main streets has begun in the regions of Erbil Governorate, including the industrial area.”
He continued, "The plan drawn up by the regional government is to deliver services to citizens, which include districts and sub-districts in the governorates." Khoshnaw pointed out that "the list of upcoming plans includes a housing project for citizens with 20,000 housing units, including 6,000 units for the city of Erbil." And he noted, "Two large plots of land have been allocated for the housing project in the city, and their location will be between Streets 120 and 150, as all procedures related to this project have been completed, which will be allocated to people with limited incomes and renters." Khoshnaw added, "The mechanism for distributing and filling out electronic forms will be announced soon through a special electronic platform for the project." On the other hand, Erbil announced the success of its security plan for Eid al-Adha, and the reception of about 145 thousand tourists. The governorate said, in a statement received by (Al-Mada), that "the plan that was prepared by the concerned authorities was successfully implemented without problems."
He added, "The governorate received 143,921 tourists during Eid al-Adha, as the plan that was developed by the Tourism Directorate was successfully implemented by providing services to tourists, instructions, and following up on the conditions of tourists in tourist resorts." And the statement continued, "During the Eid days, 35 crimes were recorded, as the police forces managed to uncover 26 of them, while 9 crimes are still under investigation." Regarding traffic accidents, the statement stated that "they numbered 8 accidents due to excessive speed, which resulted in the injury of 8 people and one death." Regarding the statistics of the civil defense, the statement explained that "the number of fires during the holiday amounted to 9 cases, with one drowning case and two rescue cases recorded." During the Eid, Erbil hospitals received 5,515 sick cases, including 6 burn cases, 226 injuries in various accidents, and one childbirth, in addition to performing 425 minor surgeries and recording one case of hemorrhagic fever, according to the statement.
