A member of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshlands, Rafik Hashem al-Salihi, accused Turkey of using the water file to thirst the central and southern provinces, stressing that the receding of the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers exposes the country to a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe.

Al-Salihi told Al-Maalouma, "Iraq is being subjected to a water war by Turkey, which has led to the drying up of rivers."
He added, "The Turkish regime is using the water file to make the Iraqi people thirsty," calling on the government to "use the economic file as a pressure card on the Turkish side in order to increase water quotas."
He added, "Cutting water has become a feature unique to the Turkish regime, and it is a violation of international norms and laws."
And Al-Salihi warned, of "the dire consequences for the Iraqi economy due to the lack of water." Ended / 25 hours
