    Today, Monday, July 24, 2023, the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at the Baghdad Palace the heads and representatives of Arab diplomatic missions accredited to Iraq. 
    At the outset of the meeting, the President of the Republic welcomed the attendees, stressing that Iraq's relations with neighboring countries and the rest of the world, especially the Islamic countries and the Middle East, are good, pointing out that work is underway to consolidate them, expressing his hope for positive results.
    The President of the Republic made it clear that the situation in Iraq is much better now, and that cities and provinces are witnessing security stability, and at the same time there are campaigns to dry up the sources of terrorism.
    And the President of the Republic indicated that without security and stability, no government program can be implemented, pointing in this regard to the focus of the presidencies meeting held yesterday on the importance of continuing to consolidate security and stability.
     The meeting also witnessed an explanation of the constitutional reasons for withdrawing Republican Decree No. (147) of 2013, and an affirmation that sects and religions are on the same level and are a respectable part of the honorable components of the Iraqi people.
    The President of the Republic indicated that the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government is good, and work is underway to issue an oil and gas law, pointing to the importance of encouraging brotherly and friendly countries to invest in Iraq.
    In turn, the Syrian Ambassador, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah, expressed his wishes for the consolidation of security and safety in Iraq, stressing the need for joint coordination and cooperation.
    As for the Lebanese Ambassador, Ali Al Habhab, he stressed the importance of working to reassure the sects in Iraq, and thanked the Presidency of the Republic for this approach.
    The Egyptian Ambassador, Walid Muhammad Ismail, expressed his support for the measures taken in Iraq after the burning of the Qur’an, pointing to the importance of the security of diplomatic missions, as the President of the Republic stressed in this regard that all diplomatic missions in Iraq are under our protection, and this is our duty and we will not allow the security of the missions to be compromised, and those involved in the attack on the Swedish embassy have been held accountable.
    Regarding the burning of the Holy Qur'an, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed that Iraq denounced the vicious attacks on the Holy Qur'an and asked the Swedish authorities not to repeat these disgraceful acts.
