A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee, Rafik Al-Salihi, revealed, on Wednesday, that he hosted the commander of the Fourth Border Forces in Parliament, after Kuwait prevented farmers from cultivating their Iraqi lands.

Al-Salhi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, "The Fourth Border Forces prevented dozens of farmers on the border with Kuwait from plowing and planting their lands."
He added that "preventing farmers from cultivating their lands has caused harm to local farmers and will lead to a decline in food security in Iraq in general and Basra in particular."
Al-Salihi said, "His committee will host the commander of the fourth region's borders to find out the reasons for preventing farmers from cultivating their lands."
The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes warned of the effects of drought affecting the central and southern governorates, noting that Iraq is going through a stage of "rapid death." End / 25 h
