On Saturday, the representative of the Sadiqun Parliamentary Bloc, Hassan Salem, accused the American side of exerting pressure to release terrorists under the banner of a general amnesty, calling on the government to prevent the movements of the American ambassador to Iraq, Elena Romansky.
Salem said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, that "the American ambassador to Iraq, Elena Romansky, plays roles outside the diplomatic and international contexts."
He added, "Washington's ambassador interferes in everything, including pressure to release terrorists under the banner of a general amnesty," and indicated that the legislation of the general amnesty law will lead to a rift in the Iraqi judiciary.
He pointed out that "there are popular and political calls rejecting the legislation of the general amnesty law," stressing "the need to rein in the movements of the American ambassador in Iraq."
A member of the State of Law Coalition, Abbas al-Maliki, accused the US embassy of financing parties trying to spread deviant ideas, to support homosexuality, gender (sex change) and women's empowerment in order to dismantle the cohesion of Iraqi society. End / 25 h
