    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq today:

The spokesman for the Iraqi government, Bassem Al-Awday, confirmed that the Kurdistan region has committed itself to what was stated in the budget, and therefore the Iraqi government, in turn, committed itself to its obligations and released a percentage of the dues of the Kurdistan Region.

A spokesman for the Iraqi government, Bassem Al-Awadi, said in a televised interview, “A consensus was reached a few days ago between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government on a set of important points, specifically the agreement on the commitment of the two parties to what was stated in the general budget law.

He added, “The federal government considered that the Kurdistan Region is committed to paragraphs A, B, C, and paragraph D of Article 12-Second, and therefore the federal government, in return, adhered to Paragraph E, which means that the federal government releases a percentage of the Kurdistan Region's dues from the budget, which is estimated at 12.67%.

Basem Al-Awadi stressed that "there is no debt to one party over the other, and the process is a mutual commitment and it is a technical issue that must be agreed upon by the two parties."

He pointed out that sending money "needed a decision from the Prime Minister, given that the agreements were not clear, and therefore the Prime Minister used his legal and constitutional powers and through the Council of Ministers and the related agencies to provide assistance to the Kurdistan Region," adding that "after the agreement and the adoption of laws, these matters will proceed." monthly normally.

On the discussions on the draft oil and gas law, the Iraqi government spokesman said that "technical and political committees" from the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad will meet as of Wednesday, noting that the law "has political aspects and decisions in addition to the technical aspects."

He stressed that "the Iraqi government has a great desire to complete the oil and gas law, which is the law that joins the relationship between the Kurdistan region and Baghdad with regard to oil and non-oil resources."[/rtl]
