The head of the Al-Rafd Center for Strategic Studies, Abbas al-Jubouri, said that Iraq owns the files of oil, trade and the path of development, and that it can be used as a weapon against Turkey in order to ensure the realization of its interests, especially in the water file.

Al-Jubouri told Al-Maalouma, "There is a trade exchange with Turkey that exceeds 20 billion dollars a year, and this is one of the powerful weapons that Iraq possesses, which it can use to guarantee its rights and its share of the water received from Turkey."

He added, "Turkey is in dire need of Iraqi oil, in addition to its need for a path of development in order to benefit and achieve economic benefits through the passage of goods and commodities through its lands to the continent of Europe."
And he indicated that "there is an urgent need to reconsider Iraq's foreign policy, in order to avoid falling into agreements and treaties that Iraq does not need and is indispensable, with the aim of guaranteeing the country's interests." ended 25 n
