    The Directorate for Combating Organized Crime determined its method of dealing with citizens who carry large sums of dollar currency and move between governorates, stressing the necessity of obtaining a permit from the Central Bank with these funds.
    The Director of Organized Crime Operations, Brigadier General Hussain Al-Tamimi, said in a press interview seen by Taqaddam that “citizens who move between governorates are not limited to a certain ceiling of the dollar,” pointing out that “this matter does not mean that the person is (unemployed) or unemployed.” He has the opportunity to obtain this financial income or to be the owner of a company.”
    He explained, "It is also not possible for a person's income to be through social welfare and carry with him an amount of 30 thousand dollars," noting that "these people will be held accountable to find out the source of this money."
    Al-Tamimi emphasized, “The citizen who needs to transfer this money must obtain a permit or authorization from the Central Bank of Iraq to transfer these amounts,” noting that “the movement of money needs approvals from the Central Bank, or through official transfers.”
    And he added, “The transfer of very large funds without approvals is intended to evade the tax and not disclose the financial accounts,” noting that “any person carrying an amount of dollars without the approvals of the central bank will be held accountable.”
    He pointed out that "a citizen who goes to the Kurdistan region can carry an amount sufficient to buy a wheel, and this matter is not held accountable," stressing that "it is not possible to overlook a person who carries with him 200 thousand dollars and tells us that he is going with his family for tourism in the region, and this matter we consider In contravention of the instructions, and through these measures we can control and know where this money goes.”
    And the security forces announce from time to time the arrest of people trying to smuggle sums of dollars through the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
