Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Muhammad Abboud, identified the causes of the phenomenon of corruption in Iraq, while stressing that the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani is serious in fighting corruption.
Abboud said in an interview with a local agency, that the meeting with the President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, in the presence of all members of the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court, discussed many files, including the file of corruption in Iraq.
He added that it is possible to fight and eliminate corruption with the presence of a real intention on the part of all parties responsible for fighting corruption, and the purpose of the existence of these institutions is to eliminate corruption and make the citizen aware that the country's resources belong to all Iraqis.
He stressed that every government that seeks success must have its real goal in fighting corruption, and the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani has a real and serious intention to fight it and seeks to enhance citizens' confidence in institutions by making them aware that it is keen on their wealth.
He pointed out that the people of Iraq went through difficult circumstances of wars and economic conditions during the era of the previous regime and the subsequent presence of foreign forces, but that did not deter them from moving together to build a state of law, indicating that takfir and terrorism did not stop the Iraqis from strengthening national unity and producing ways for the peaceful transfer of power. Adopting a fair distribution of wealth and granting equal opportunities to all Iraqis.
The President of the Federal Court indicated that on January 30, 2005, the Iraqis voted in millions for the constitution, recalling the pains of oppression by the tyrannical junta that was practiced on all components of the people. They sought hand in hand for the purpose of rebuilding Iraq and building a new future without racism, regional complexes, or discrimination. or exclusion.
He stressed that the constitution of Iraq is one of the best constitutions in the Middle East, as it clarified public rights and freedoms, the system of government, constitutional authority, and how the constitutional authorities exercise their competencies, which are based on the principle of separation of powers.
He continued that preserving the constitution and working according to it builds a modern, independent Iraqi state based on correct citizenship, fighting and eliminating corruption, restoring citizen's confidence in the public office and government, and creating a government and legislative authority that works for the people.
With regard to the budget appeals, Judge Abboud noted that the budget law for the three years 2023-2024-2025 is very good, indicating that the court received many appeals from the government and other parties regarding the budget paragraphs, but it has not been decided so far and is under consideration, pointing out that the court issued a primitive order By suspending some of the materials that were challenged.
He pointed out that the budget law dealt with important issues for the people and also included addressing the salaries of the region's employees.

I think the title tells us all we need know concerning the challenge of the budget by the parliament minister slated for Aug 7th. We just have to get to the date legally. It's the only challenge of legal consequence, though clearly, the results of the expected decision are revealed right now. Application of the budget will follow this decision.

Centered in this report is also the idea of the international AML/CFT standard being applied inside Iraq. Getting a handle on this one item is either white noise to disguise what the CBI is doing behind the scenes, or it is an IMF requirement to proceed forward.
