    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Saturday (August 12, 2023), the Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed the existence of a parliamentary movement aimed at resolving controversial laws that have been postponed for years.
Committee member Salem al-Anbaki told "Baghdad Today" that "there is a parliamentary movement by the various parliamentary committees in order to resolve the controversial laws pending with them since the previous parliamentary sessions, with the aim of resolving them during the current parliamentary session."
Al-Anbuge said, "The deferred laws have political differences, and some have differences in technical and legal viewpoints. Therefore, all these differences will be resolved by agreement between the forces of the State Administration Coalition, which constitutes the majority in the Iraqi parliament in the coming days."
The number of laws that have been deferred and suspended since the previous parliamentary sessions is estimated at about 170 draft laws, the most important of which is the oil and gas law, which outlines the economic relationship between Baghdad and the region, in addition to the general amnesty law and information crimes, all of which are controversial laws between the political forces.
