    Information / Baghdad...
A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee, Thaer al-Jubouri, criticized, on Wednesday, the method of using the language of threats and commercial weapons in order to pressure Turkey to give Iraq its share of water, pointing out that Iraq has a known share of water and there is no need to grant Turkey legitimacy by bartering water for the economic factor.

Al-Jubouri told Al-Maalouma, "The threat to cut off trade exchange with Turkey as a response to its policy towards Iraq regarding reducing the water share and causing damage to the country is not a correct idea from a political point of view."
He added, "If one of the influential political parties threatens Turkey to cut off trade exchange, it will give Ankara legitimacy to barter water for commercial or oil exchange, or to meet its interests in exchange for releasing the water share."
And he indicated that "Iraq has a share of water that is known and known to the Iraqi and Turkish sides, and it cannot be conditional on commercial or economic exchange, so obtaining a share of water is not through the threat, as it worsens the situation." ended 25 n
