Iskandar said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee is closely following the strenuous efforts to make important amendments to the anti-drug law and will hold an important meeting after the Arbaeen visit to present a working paper that includes proposals to strengthen the force of the law in combating a scourge no less dangerous than extremism." .
He added, "All the data indicate that 6 amendments will occur to the law, most notably the tightening of penalties against traffickers and the mechanisms for dealing with drug abusers, in addition to providing details about promoters and trial mechanisms, with reference to the powers of the security forces in direct clashes."
He indicated that he "supports that the vocabulary of the law be in accordance with the principle that drug crimes are equivalent to the act of terrorism, because it is a scourge that has severe damage to the structure of Iraqi society and youth are the first victims," expecting "the law to be passed before the end of 2023."
The Anti-Narcotics Committee is seeking to draft important amendments to a law that will mark the beginning of a new phase in combating a worrisome scourge in the country. over 25 p.m
