    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Saturday (September 9, 2023), the researcher in Iraqi political affairs, Ahmed Al-Sharifi, hinted that “electoral investment” is behind the problems of Baghdad and Erbil regarding the budget, indicating the presence of political parties that “live electorally” on problems and disputes.
Al-Sharifi told "Baghdad Today", "There are many different political parties working to create problems and political crises through media statements and positions, and this is because these parties live on such crises in order to win the votes of voters, sectarian or national."
He stated, “We expect that the political differences between the various parties will escalate during the coming period, especially with the approaching provincial council elections. Some parties make an electoral living on problems and differences, and for this reason they do not want real political stability, especially in the relationship between the federal government and the regional government.” This is why we see the crisis going on for many years without any real rights.”
As the intensity of the statements exchanged between Baghdad and Erbil intensified, in a verbal conflict in which both the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and the rest of the Kurdish representatives on the one hand, and between the speakers and government advisors in the Sudanese government on the other hand, political voices were issued calling for calm and resolving the dispute through dialogue and determining the origin of the problem. On the other hand, corresponding voices are issued that observers and interested parties believe are “pouring oil on the fire” and are enthusiastic about the growing dispute between the region and Baghdad.
While some political forces are working to resolve differences and calling for dialogue, the position of the head of the Irada Movement, Representative Hanan Al-Fatlawi, appears as the most prominent position working towards “escalation” and deepening the dispute between the two parties, as she said that the problem of the Kurdistan region will not be solved until the end of time,” adding that “the region disagrees with Every new prime minister, even if he is cooperating with them, because they will never deliver the imports, as they have not delivered them for twenty years and will not deliver them.”
The enthusiasm shown by Al-Fatlawi was read by many observers and specialists as “enthusiasm driven by old attachments and grudges that has no relation to the technical understanding of what is happening.”
In this context, political analyst Aram Mustafa pointed out that “Hanan Al-Fatlawi was known for her hostility towards the Kurds and Kurdistan, and she uses this incitement as part of political and electoral competition.”
He said in his interview with “Baghdad Today”: “I believe that these voices will harm the political stability that exists in Iraq at the time under the government of Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, which is witnessing security and political stability and an improvement in relations between the region and Baghdad and relations with the Arab and international surroundings, so that these voices come to incite... "The entire political process wants to undermine the government's efforts."
