Dhi Qar Oil increases the number of producing wells

Dhi Qar Oil Company increased the number of wells in the Gharraf oil field after drilling a new well out of 23 wells, and the company is close to completing its annual plan aimed at increasing the number of wells in this large field.
The Director General of Dhi Qar Oil Company, Ali Khudair Abbas, told Al-Sabah: The company is seeking to raise its oil production by drilling more wells within the framework of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, aimed at raising the companies’ production capabilities. National, indicating that the company has cut more than 75 percent of the annual plan prepared to increase the number of producing wells in the Gharraf oil field.
The Director-General explained that “the joint engineering and technical personnel in the Al-Gharraf field contributed to drilling the new well, which comes within a contract for the Malaysian Petronas Company, as this contract includes the completion of drilling 23 new wells in the field.”
For his part, the Director of the Al-Gharraf Authority, Engineer Uday Mahdi Naeem, confirmed that “the process of drilling the wells was completed successfully, and many of them were fully connected,” indicating that the new well is ready to be connected by specialized personnel.
He explained, "The total depth of the new well reached 3,468 meters, with an inclination angle of 46.3 degrees, and the work was carried out by the Uzbek Ariel and the Chinese Great Wall companies."
