    Information/Baghdad..
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed that relations between Iraq and Russia remain strong, despite the sanctions imposed on Moscow, and the changes in the political environment resulting from the conflict in Ukraine.
Hussein said in a televised statement followed by Al-Maalouma: “Russian-Iraqi relations have a long history and were always at a good level, but the war in Ukraine affected the entire political environment, and as is known, sanctions were imposed on Russia, yet relations remain strong.”

In response to a question about the topics that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, will address during his speech before the United Nations General Assembly, Hussein said that Al-Sudani intends to address the internal situation in Iraq, and focus on issues of regional and international security.
The work of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly began yesterday under the slogan “Rebuilding Trust and Bridges of Global Solidarity,” and the summit’s work is scheduled to continue for a week. End25
