    The Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Qais al-Khazali, said that he discussed the maintenance of Russian military equipment at the Ministry of Defense. [/rtl]
    [rtl]This came while he received, in his office in Baghdad, the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, according to a statement. [/rtl]
    [rtl]According to the statement, the two parties discussed “the nature of the obstacles facing efforts to maintain Russian-made military equipment in the Ministry of Defense and ways to address them,” while Al-Khazali stressed “the importance of cooperation between the two countries in regional issues, to achieve stability and thwart projects that support terrorism.” According to the statement of the head of Asaib, the Russian ambassador praised “the efforts made to make the fortieth visit a success, and the messages included in this large gathering of two million people,” and he also expressed “the Federal Republic of Russia welcomes the holding of Iraqi local elections over time, because they lead to strengthening political stability in Iraq.”During the meeting between Al-Khazali and Kutrashev, they “discussed the political situation in the country, the common interests between the two countries, and Iraq’s growing role in regional issues.”[/rtl]
    [rtl] Russian Ambassador Elbrus Kutrashev previously "praised the efforts made by the leaders of the coordinating framework to get out of the political impasse and succeed in forming the new government, and his government's full readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi government in all fields," during a Meeting with Qais al-Khazali a year ago, after the formation of Muhammad al-Sudani's government.[/rtl]
