[rtl]A source closely familiar with the scenes of the Iraqi delegation’s movement in New York confirmed that a large portion of the Iraqi delegation’s time was allocated to bilateral meetings with the Iranian delegation, which held more than one meeting with the Sudanese.
The source explained that the Iranians were urgently requesting that Tehran’s demands in Iraq be presented, most notably the comprehensive end to the American presence, the exemption of Baghdad from the restrictions of American sanctions, and the direct payment of financial dues owed by Iraq, while officials responded that Iraq has its own circumstances and that Iran must reduce the pressure, in order to take this into account.
