Central admission occupies parliament and calls for new controls in education

The relevant parliamentary committees and the Ministries of Education and Higher Education are busy studying a new mechanism for central admissions, educational education outcomes, and student benefits, especially for those who have obtained a grade that qualifies them to enter the medical group colleges.
A member of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Yassin Taher, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The Parliamentary Committee communicated with the Ministry, to set special controls for grades, similar to private government education, and for the drop in grades to be a certain amount and according to scientific specializations.”
Taher added, "The Ministry has not yet determined the level that will be followed, and the number of grades, and that the committee is awaiting the final decision from the Ministry of Higher Education."
Every year, private colleges and universities compete to attract thousands of preparatory school graduates by reducing tuition fees in addition to creating medical colleges of dentistry and pharmacy, so that the Iraqi student remains confused between central and private admission.
Regarding dealing with thousands of university graduates, a member of the Parliamentary Health Committee, Majid Shankali, told Al-Sabah, “It is not possible to continue with the current policy of appointing all the outputs of the medical group, so it is not possible to continue in this manner.” Shankali pointed out that "the committee will work to amend the medical progression law and make it balanced. This law will be specific to private colleges only, as it is not possible to appoint all graduates of the medical group from private colleges."
