    [rtl]The advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Hussein Allawi, confirmed control over the theft of the century and its criminal implications, noting that the actions of previous governments “allowed the corrupt to exploit the bureaucracy” in Iraq.  

    Allawi said, in a press interview, that Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly, referred to several basic points, including the fight against corruption and the Iraqi government’s plan in this fight, which extended into theft of the century, as the Prime Minister described it as “Corruption pandemic.” 

    He added, "The procedures in place during the era of previous governments allowed the corrupt to exploit the bureaucracy, with the absence of electronic connectivity, and the traditional course of action also made the government apparatus suffer from corruption." 

    Hussein Allawi, stated that “the theft of the century, and its criminal highlights, were controlled with the search for money and people,” indicating that the government was able to part of that money, whether in cash or in the form of real real estate and housing.

    He pointed out that a process is currently underway to settle these funds and restore them to the Iraqi state treasure. 

    Regarding the theft and smuggling of petroleum derivatives, he stated that the government worked to eliminate corruption in this sector, and the network behind the smuggling was criminalized by the Iraqi judiciary. 

    The advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister confirmed that the government is working on the issue of electronic automation, and setting up a unified account for the government, federal Iraqi ministries, and entities not affiliated with a ministry, pointing out that this process “will allow a financial reform process that dries up functional corruption within the Iraqi state.” 

     He noted that the current government's new measure in combating corruption is "recovering money and people," adding that previous governments "were recovering people without returning the money to the treasure." 

    He explained that there are many people accused of corruption who have been placed in prisons, indicating that some cases of stagnant funds deposited in banks as well as real estate should be taken into account, which is being followed up in coordination between Interpol and the Federal Integrity Commission, until the phenomenon that “harmed the reputation of the Iraqi economy” is ended. 

    He stated that Iraq went through a "difficult summer," but it adapted to the issue through the Ministry of Electricity's plan in this regard, describing the ministries' performance as "good." 

    He pointed out that Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani worked on the “institutional aspect,” pointing out that Articles 11, 12, and 13 related to the Iraqi Kurdistan region in the budget law “are a very clear road map to be implemented institutionally in order to end the issue of salaries, as well as the financial settlements in previous budgets from 2004-2022, with the involvement of the Federal Office of Financial Supervision and the Kurdistan Region.” 

    He stressed that the Iraqi government looks at employees in the government apparatus in all governorates of Iraq, including the Kurdistan region, with “one look,” noting at the same time that the current problems are related to the constitution and laws in force to conduct a paper and sectoral settlement process and financial control over the spending process.[/rtl]
