Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Kazem Al Sadiq, criticized the recent British human rights sanctions against Iran, while describing human rights standards in Western countries as duplicity.
The Iranian Mehr News Agency reported today, Monday (September 25, 2023), that “the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Kazem Al Sadiq, hosted the new British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen, at the headquarters of the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad yesterday, Sunday.”
She added, "During the meeting, the regional and international situation was reviewed."
She continued, "In this meeting, Al-Sadiq criticized the human rights ban that England recently imposed on our country. He described human rights standards in Western countries as duplicity and demanded a change in these countries' approach toward the Islamic Republic of Iran."
