Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Gamal Rashid, stressed the necessity of opening an investigation into the Hamdaniya incident.
The President of the Republic stated in his blog post on the (x) platform, “What happened to our children in the Al-Hamdaniya district is a painful tragedy, and an accident that tore our hearts and the hearts of all Iraqis,” stressing “the necessity of opening an investigation, knowing the circumstances of the accident, and taking all safety measures to prevent its recurrence.”
He added: "Our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and a speedy recovery to the injured."
The Nineveh Governorate Health Department announced that 100 deaths and more than 150 injuries were recorded as a preliminary toll as a result of the wedding hall fire incident in the Al-Hamdaniya district in Nineveh Governorate.
