On Tuesday (September 26, 2023), the Accountability and Justice Commission decided to exclude 125 candidates for the provincial council elections, including 20 candidates from Nineveh, most notably Governor Najm al-Jubouri.
According to documents obtained by “Baghdad Today,” the Accountability and Justice Commission informed the Independent High Electoral Commission that 125 candidates were included in the elimination, including 20 candidates from Nineveh, most notably the Governor of Nineveh, Najm al-Jubouri, a candidate for Hasm, 3 from Sovereignty, 2 from the Democratic Party, and a candidate from Taqadum and other parties.
