    Independent MP Kazem Al-Touki confirmed the possibility of holding a parliament session and achieving a quorum despite the Kurds’ refusal and their departure from the parliament hall in protest against the refusal to pass the paragraph related to transforming Halabja into a governorate.

    Al-Touki told Al-Maalouma, “Last week’s parliament session was postponed three times in a row, due to the presence of an item on the agenda related to voting on transforming Halabja into a governorate within the Kurdistan region.” 
    He added, "All the representatives in Parliament refuse to pass the vote on transforming Halabja into a governorate, and as a result, the Kurdish representatives have worked to refrain from entering the House of Representatives hall, unless they ensure that what they want regarding Halabja is passed." 
    He stated that "the Parliament session will not continue to be postponed due to the Kurdish boycott, as it is possible to achieve a quorum and hold the session without the Kurds in order for the Council sessions to continue and important laws and projects to be passed." Ended 25 n
