    Economy News _ Baghdad
The Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee recorded a significant decline in the level of Internet services, while activists on social media confirmed that the new policy, which includes dividing regions into geographical patches, each of which belongs to a specific company, will make services even worse.
The head of the committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah” followed by “Al-Iqtisad News” that the committee is working to improve the reality of the Internet in the country, especially after the decline in the quality of services during the past months, noting that her committee will host the Minister of Communications in the House of Representatives session, to question her about The delay in projects for this sector and the policy it adopts with companies marketing services.
She emphasized working to address the shortcomings in the management of Internet projects and develop radical solutions to them, which will reflect positively on the level of services provided to citizens, adding that dividing the regions into geographical patches, each of which is affiliated with a specific company, will create a large gap and discrepancy between the services provided by the aforementioned companies, in addition to Strengthening monopoly, describing this policy as wrong and impractical.
Al-Bajari warned that monitoring the completion rates achieved by the Ministry of Communications revealed that it had achieved a rate that did not exceed 25 percent according to the government program, in contrast to what the Ministry stated that it had achieved 300 percent of the plan for the government program.
For their part, activists reported on social networking sites  that the services provided by the ministry do not meet the ambition, especially since a large percentage of them use the Internet and depend on it for their work, explaining that they are not good compared to the quality of service provided in neighboring countries.
They pointed out that implementing the new zoning policy for companies will worsen the service, calling for higher interventions to address the defect in the quality of the Internet and address the delay in projects that were launched years ago and have not been completed yet.
